American Percival Lowell took the idea much further from to with a series of three books detailing his observations of the Martian surface and the intelligent civilization that he believed existed there. Now in the 21st century a man named David Martines claims to have found evidence of intelligent life on Mars—this time in the form of a long cylindrical base.
Martines speculates the station could belong to the U. NASA space agency, but doubts it would be possible for humans to get that much material to Mars in secret. Google has also done some of its own work on the imagery, adding high-resolution images from infrared and other sources to heighten detail on points of interest. Martines has removed his original videos announcing the discovery from YouTube, but a few sites still have them available. The best home security systems in 11 hours ago.

An expert has suggested a man-made facility on Mars, which was spotted on Google Mars and laughed off by the tech giant as an April Fools Day joke, could be real. Tyler Glockner, who runs Youtube channel Secureteam 10which investigates UFOS, aliens and other strange goings on, says he is concerned about the photos. He has said if this all was just a big April Fools Day prank, then it was a "pretty cruel joke".
But they later admitted it was a joke, claiming they photoshopped the images, and added the buildings on to the Mars shots. Speaking on his channel Tyler said: "Whoever did this photoshopping, had to put in hours and hours of work. He added: "April 1st came and went, nobody even knew about it until months later, now people are emailing me.
Google Mars allows viewers to look at images of the red planet downloaded by Nasa, as well as to go on a virtual tour.

Devon Island in the Arctic is the largest uninhabited island on Earth, and for good reason. With a polar-desert climate and barren, rocky terrain, which is frequently veiled in fog, this desolate landmass is hardly welcoming. The vast inland plateau is blanketed by boulder fields and cut by deep canyons and mazes of valleys. The landscape is also scarred by a large meteorite impact crater and smoothed by ancient lake beds. Established init is dedicated to advancing planetary science and exploration.
The station is occupied each summer to support field research supported by NASA and other partners. It should come as no surprise that there aren't any direct flights to the largest uninhabited island on the planet.
Just to reach and return from the HMP Research Station, the team behind this expedition had to take seven different flights. Because there are no year-round residents, Devon Island, much like the Moon or Mars now, lacks much of the infrastructure we take for granted. At the HMP Research Station, all the supplies needed for fieldwork — food, fuel, research equipment and personal supplies, must be brought in, and all the refuse packed up and brought back out.
On the Moon and Mars, we will eventually need to grow our own food, produce our own fuel, and process our own waste. About 23 million years ago, Devon Island was hit by an asteroid or a comet, estimated to be one kilometer wide. The monumental collision created Haughton Crater, an impact structure kilometers in diameter. Haughton was frozen in time and is now one of the best-preserved impact structures on Earth. Compared to Haughton, however, many of the most ancient craters on Mars are even better preserved.
What formed Haughton Crater? Was it an asteroid made of mostly rock or a comet made mostly of ice? During the impact, existing rocks on Devon Island were crushed, superheated, mixed and launched into the sky.
The debris then rained back down both inside and outside the crater, forming heaps of discolored rubble called impact breccia. The gray hills now occupying the interior of the crater are made of this once airborne material. A massive amount of energy was released when the impacting object collided here, causing it to completely vaporize.
The impact also discharged a powerful shock wave into the ground. It then took about 10 seconds to excavate Haughton Crater to its original depth of 1. The monumental impact likely wiped out all life on the surface of the Earth for hundreds of kilometers around.
Signs of the passage of a shock wave are still visible. It left cone-shaped fracture patterns, called shatter cones, in many rocks. Shatter cones require a massive shock wave to form and are found only at impact crater sites and nuclear explosion test sites.A self-described "armchair astronaut" claims to have identified a human or alien base on Mars.
David Martines noticed a mysterious rectangular structure that appears to be on the Red Planet's surface while trolling the planetary surface using Google Mars, a new map program created from compiled satellite images of the planet. He zooms in the surface anomaly — a long, pixelated, white object — and lists the coordinates as 49' It looks like it's a cylinder or made up of cylinders," he says.
Has Martines really found evidence of alien life, or a secret space base, as he and some media sources are claiming? No, say experts: "Bio Station Alpha" is simply a glitch in the image caused by cosmic energy interfering with the camera. Cosmic rays are extremely energetic particles emitted by the sun and other stars. For the most part, the Earth's protective magnetosphere blocks them from hitting the planet's surface, McEwen explained. You see them on optical images and a lot of the infrared images too," he told Life's Little Mysteries, a sister site to LiveScience.
As a cosmic ray passes through a camera's image sensor, it deposits a large amount of its electric charge in the pixels that it penetrates. If the particle passes through at a shallow angle to the plane of the camera, it affects several pixels along its path.
The result is a bright streak on the image. The digital compression software that converts the image into a JPEG file then "sort of smears out the image, giving it that pixelated look," McEwen said. What started as a clear streak in high-resolution turns into a streak that, in the armchair astronaut's words, looks like it is "made up of cylinders.
McEwen said that the cosmic ray streak would be much easier to recognize in the raw, pre-compressed image, but many orbiters and telescopes have contributed imagery to create the Mars map, and Google doesn't identify the source image. They should be able to identify what the source of their information is, and let people know so they can go back and look at the raw data.

To get there, head anywhere on Earth in Google Maps, zoom all the way out, click the explore tab in the bottom right corner, and then click "Earth" in the bottom left corner.
Three orb options will appear in the explore tab: Earth, Moon, and Mars. Or you can go directly to the moon here and to Mars here. Both the moon and Mars have plenty of geographic features labeled, but for information on landings on each, you'll have to use Google Earth.
Cute little flags mark landings and less cute flags mark attempted landings of rovers and spacecraft; when clicked, they give basic information about the projects. Other markers open to show images captured by rovers, orbiters, and missions. Pretty much everything on these maps is fascinating because they offer glimpses into the mostly unknown—features of the moon or Mars marked with geographical names, but not much else. While lunar features tend to get their names from Latin or from the names of scientists, Mars abounds with non-Latinate names taken from terrestrial rivers or the word for Mars in various languages.
Grjota Valles, for instance, gets its name from an Icelandic river, and the Auqakuh Vallis gets its name from the word for Mars in Quechua. Even less well known by common folk that is, people who don't work for or study NASA are failed and crashed missions to the moon and Mars, which are included in Google Earth but not in the web-based Google Maps.
Like most things in Google Earth, the maps of the moon and Mars are a little buggy to start off, and some links cause the program to crash. It'd be nice for Google to integrate much of its Earth data into Maps, as well as the information on its google.
Also missing: directions.

There are also images of the interior of these images, which makes us think that this is a joke by NASA. What does it mean to manipulate images of a scientific ecosystem? Captain Kaye allegedly spent three years also in the secret space fleet of the organization called Earth Defense Force - which would be responsible for recruiting people from countries like USA, Russia, and China.
For many years the theorists of the ancient astronauts suspect that some governments are already living on Martian soil, others even claim that most of the photos are all prepared to be displayed in a way that does not raise suspicion of what is really happening on the Red Planet or elsewhere in the solar system.
Unfortunately, Google has only included the colour portion of the image in Google Maps and Curiosity is just off the edge. Curiosity as seen in the original image not included in Google Maps.
